MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom applied to Russia’s Government asking for a gas discount for Ukraine, its CEO Alexey Miller said in an interview aired by the Rossiya-24 TV news channel Monday.
"Today Gazprom applied to the Government of the Russian Federation asking for a discount for Ukraine for 3 months," he said.
Miller added that the currently effective contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz stipulates an opportunity to give a discount to Ukraine.
"We think 3 months period is appropriate as recently we’ve witnessed a high dynamics of gas prices," Miller said.
