EC awaiting proposals from Russia, Ukraine on gas supplies in summer

BRUSSELS, March 3. /TASS/. European Commission expects proposals from Ukraine and Russia on supplies of gas during the summertime so that the sides could hold the next trilateral meeting on the problem of Russian natural gas deliveries to Ukraine and its transits to the EU, the EU’s deputy energy commissioner Maros Sefcovic and the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, said in a joint statement.

It said the parties to the talks had confirmed their readiness to continue trilateral talks after the winding up of the ‘winter package’ of gas deliveries in full compliance with the February 12, 2015, Minsk declaration.

The statement also said the European Commission had invited the sides to submit their proposals on possible items of the agenda for the next trilateral meeting.

The European commission would prepare its draft on the basis of these proposals and would invite the Russian and Ukrainian officials to hold a yet another meeting before the end of this month.
