Islamic banking brings over $160 million to Russian Tatarstan republic's market

The republic’s head Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan is strengthening relations with Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

KAZAN, Tatarstan, February 10 /TASS/. Islamic banking has brought over $160 million to Tatarstan’s market over the past few years, the republic’s head Rustam Minnikhanov said at a meeting with a delegation of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) on Tuesday.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan was strengthening relations with Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Tatarstan hosts the annual international economic KazanSummit which discusses the development of Islamic finance in Russia.
