Ukraine might cut gas imports from Russia thanks to joint deals with China

This was announced by the Ministry of Energy and Coalmining of Ukraine after a working meeting of Ukrainian coal and energy Minister with Chinese ambassador to Ukraine

KIEV, January 29. /TASS/. Ukraine might cut imports of Russian gas by four billion cubic meters thanks to joint projects with China, the Ministry of Energy and Coalmining of Ukraine declared after a working meeting of Ukrainian coal and energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn with Chinese ambassador to Ukraine Mr. Zhang Xiyun.

The Ukrainian government has called to step up the implementation of projects of modernization of Ukrainian thermal power stations and construction of enterprises for production of synthetic gas for enterprises of the chemical industry on the basis of agreements signed by the China Development Bank with the Ministry of Energy and Coalmining of Ukraine and the Naftogaz Ukrainy company.
