European Union unaware of Gazprom plans of natural gas delivery to EU — ambassador

The head of the EU Mission in Russia says Gazprom’s statement that starting from 2019 the company will stop natural gas supplies to the EU via Ukraine is a suprize

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The European Union does not fully understand the plans of Russia’s natural gas giant Gazprom regarding interaction with the consumers and partners in Europe, head of the EU Mission in Russia Vygaudas Usackas told a news conference on Thursday.

“We were not informed of when and how the Turkish hub will be developed,” he said. “We don’t fully understand how Gazprom intends in the future to develop relations with the consumers and partners in Europe.”

“We are surprised at Gazprom’s statement that starting from 2019 the company will stop natural gas supplies to the EU via Ukraine,” the diplomat said.
