Russian economy amassed great deal of domestic problems — PM Medvedev

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday that the Russian economy amassed a great deal of domestic problems and the Cabinet of Ministers should focus next year on their solution.

“It is obvious that the volume of accumulated problems is enormous and just like Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) said now, not all of these problems can be explained by exterior pressure or oil price volatility,” Medvedev said during the Cabinet’s meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

According to the premier, the Russian economy has domestic problems, which accrued during the Soviet and the post-Soviet times and the authorities must resolve them. “This is what the government’s work will be aimed at,” Medvedev said.

Next year the Russian government’s primary task must be the consistent implementation of social obligations and the so-called ‘May presidential decrees,’ Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday.
