Russian ex-finance minister Kudrin says ruble stabilized

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. A former Russian deputy prime minister and finance minister, Alexey Kudrin, said Thursday the ruble’s exchange rate has stabilized.

“The government has for the second day coordinated the sale of hard currency revenues of large exporters, first of all state companies. The ruble has stabilized,” Kudrin wrote on Twitter.

He agreed with a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin who said at a news conference earlier Thursday that without government support, the Central Bank would have been unable to achieve that stabilization.
