RIO DE JANEIRO, December 15. /TASS/. Brazil more than doubled pork supplies to Russia from January to November 2014 year-on-year amid the war of sanctions between Russia and the West over Ukraine.

In October Russia accounted for 46.8% of Brazilian pork exports, earning exporters 60.67% of their revenues, the vice president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Fransisco, Turra, reported on Monday. The ABPA unites main pork producers of the country.

Supplies in January-November were worth $766.3 million, which is a 101.5% growth year-on-year.

“Earlier, Russia used to expand or cut at times pork purchases from Brazil, so we are so far reserved in assessing the prospects, but in any case with a glance to growing supplies we can say that the outgoing year has become the year of Russia, ABPA’s website quoted Turra as saying.
