2015 budget of Russia-Belarus Union State to exceed $90 million — speaker

The budget of the Union State is formed from Russia’s and Belarus’ annual contributions

SOCHI, December 5. /TASS/. Russia and Belarus on Friday approved the budget of the Union State for 2015 at a sum of more than 4.87 billion rubles ($90.5 million).

The sum was announced by speaker of the Russian State Duma lower parliament house Sergey Naryshkin after the 47th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Russia and Belarus in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi. The session was co-chaired by Naryshkin and speaker of the Belarusian parliament Vladimir Andreichenko.

The budget of the Union State is formed from Russia’s and Belarus’ annual contributions. Next year, Russia will contribute 3.1 billion roubles ($57.6 million), and Belarus will contribute 1.7 billion rubles ($31.6 million).

Russia’s Sergey Naryshkin is speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Russia and Belarus and his first deputy is speaker of the Belarusian National Assembly’s House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko. Each of the two countries delegates 36 lawmakers from both houses of their parliaments to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State.

The next 48th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Russia and Belarus will be held in 2015 in Belarus.
