MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Moscow and New Delhi are negotiating the construction of the third and fourth units at a nuclear plant in India, Indian Ambassador to Russia Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan said on Thursday.

“Nuclear energy is a very important area of our cooperation,” he said. “One unit of India’s nuclear plant has already been completed with Russia’s participation, another one will be commissioned next year. Today we are negotiating the construction of the third and fourth units.”

The Indian diplomat drew attention to the cooperation between his country and Russia in the area of hydrocarbons. “Russia is a ‘hydrocarbon superpower',” he noted. “A number of Indian oil companies maintain contacts with Russian companies, and we hope for progress in this sphere.”
