MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Russia’s Transholdleasing, the only bidder at a tender for the supplies of 768 train cars for the Moscow Metropolitan, has offered a price even lower than the initial one of 133 billion roubles (2.7 billion U.S. dollars), the tender organizers said on Thursday after unsealing envelopes with bidding offers.
Transholdleasing has offered a price of 130.88 billion roubles (2.67 U.S. dollars). The bid was submitted on November 21.
Transholdleasing is incorporated into the Transmashholding group, Russia’s biggest group of machine-building plants.
An open international contest for supplying 768 cars and following 30-year maintenance on a lifecycle contract was announced in October.
Moscow Metro plans to buy a total of 3,000 new cars by 2020.
