Talks on creating free trade zone between Customs Union, Vietnam enter final stage — Putin

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Talks on creating free trade zone between Customs Union, Vietnam have entered their final stage, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The creation of the free trade zone will facilitate further strengthening of cooperation, Putin said. Nguyen Phu Trong said the agreement on the free trade zone agreement should be ready by early 2015.

Russian oil company Zarubezhneft and Vietnam’s state oil and gas corporation Petrovietnam have signed a memorandum on further development of strategic cooperation. 

Russian oil and gas company Gazprom Neft and Vietnam’s state oil and gas corporation Petrovietnam have signed a contract on deliveries of ESPO oil to Vietnam. Gazprom Neft and  Petrovietnam also signed a framework deal on developing the Nagumanovskoye oilfield in the Orenburg Region in the Urals and the Severo-Purovskoye hydrocarbon deposit in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area in north-eastern Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia and Vietnam are negotiating joint use of the GLONASS global satellite navigation system. “Negotiations are underway on the joint use of the global navigation system GLONASS — the deployment of the system’s monitoring centers is planned in Vietnam,” Putin said after talks.

Moscow and Hanoi have also agreed to increase Vietnam's agricultural, seafood supplies to Russia, Putin added.
