LONDON, November 24. /TASS/. Ukraine plans to buy 1 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas by the end of 2014, head of Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev said on Monday, Reuters reported.

“We plan to buy 1 billion cubic meters of Russian gas from now until the end of the year,” he said during an energy conference in the Slovak capital.

The Naftogaz CEO also said Ukraine was in negotiations with Hungary on the resumption of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine within the next few months.

“We hope the supply of gas from Hungary will resume in December or January next year. We are in discussions with Hungarian counterparts,” he said.
