Avtovaz switches car production line at full capacity over growing demand

SAMARA, November 7. /TASS/. Growing demand for Lada cars in Russia has prompted Russia’s biggest car manufacturer Avtovaz to switch its procution line to the full capacity, the press centre of the company told TASS on Friday.

“All assembly lines are working at their full capacity - in two or three shifts five days a week,” the press centre said. “Apart from that, additional shifts has been introduced on Saturdays for pilot production lines and Lada 4x4 and Lada Kalina assembly lines.”

In October 2014, Avtovaz sold 40,207 Lada cars, or by 4.7% more than in September. As many as 37,788 cars were sold domestically, or by 3.5% up on September.

Lada sales in October 2014 exceeded October 2013 sales by 0.8% Thus, Lada sales have demonstrated upwards tendencies after 19 months of slump.
