Ukraine gas price disagreements stall payment for Russian gas transit

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The gas price dispute between Moscow and Kiev stalls payments for Russian natural gas transit across Ukraine, Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov said on Friday.

“Gazprom calculates this price under the formula indicated in the contract on gas supplies. However, Naftogaz of Ukraine calculates the price using its own formula. This inhibits the process. But we’ll find a solution to this problem. Everything will be done in compliance with the spirit of the Brussels accords,” the Gazprom spokesman said.

Gazprom halted gas supplies to Ukraine in mid-June under the existing gas contract with Naftogaz over Ukraine’s failure to make advance payments for June deliveries. Naftogaz filed a lawsuit to the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal against Gazprom demanding a revision of the gas contract.
