LE BOURGET, October 30. /TASS/. Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) has not received an invitation to attend a ceremony of handover to the universal amphibious ship of the Mistral class in Saint Nazaire, France, Alexei Rakhmanov, the president of the corporation told TASS on the sidelines of Euronaval’2014 exhibition.

“OSK has not received any invitations from Rosoboronexport to attend the handover of the Vladivostok helicopter carrier,” he said.

After the transfer of the Mistrals, enterprises of the corporation are to fit them out with Russian weaponry. Earlier, the Baltiyskiy Zavod shipyard in St Petersburg built aft parts for both Mistrals.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Wednesday that the transfer of the first Mistral to the Russian Navy was to take place in two weeks’ time.

“Rosoboronexport (Russia’s government-owned weaponry trading corporation - TASS/) has received an invitation to arrive in Saint Nazaire on November 14 where 360 Russian seamen and 60 instructors are currently getting trained for a handover of the Vladivostok and for the floating of the second Mistral,” Rogozin said.

A high-ranking Russian official told TASS on the sidelines Euronaval’2014 that the delivery of the Vladivostok helicopter carrier would be effectuated on time in full compliance with the contract.

“The ship and its fully assembled crew are in St Nazaire now ready to leave the port as soon as all the formalities are over,” Rogozin said.
