“This flight did not bring sufficient profit and was not recouped, so, we closed it,” he said, noting that the air company sought to improve the situation on this air route. “We had an idea that we would be able to serve some flow of transit passengers flying from India. But we have tried to tackle this issue twice, but in vain,” Savelyev noted.
Aeroflot resumed two weekly regular direct flights to Toronto in June 2013, then the airline forecast a high demand in flights. But the air carrier’s plans did not come true.
Another major Russian airline Transaero also cancelled regular flights to Toronto earlier in September for the same reason.
