Poland resumes reverse gas flows to Ukraine

Ukraine has already imported 117 million cubic meters of gas from Poland in September in the reverse flow mode

KIEV, October 3. /TASS/. Poland has resumed reverse-flow gas supplies to Ukraine, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transportation system Ukrtransgaz said on Friday.

A temporary halt of reverse gas supplies from Poland to Ukraine was due to works on the pipeline agreed between the Polish and Ukrainian gas transportation operators, Ukrtransgaz said.

Reverse flows were halted on October 2 and resumed several hours later.

According to Ukrtransgaz data, Ukraine imported 117 million cubic meters of gas from Poland in September in the reverse flow mode.

Russia stopped gas flows to Ukraine in June over an unsettled dispute over debt and gas prices. Russia said it is ready to resume natural gas supplies to Ukraine if Kiev repays its gas debt and makes advance payments for new gas deliveries.

The Naftogaz oil and gas company stopped paying for the consumed Russian natural gas on March 25. As of August 1, the overall debt of Naftogaz to Gazprom for supplied gas totaled about $5.3 billion.
