Russia, Abkhazia to build up regional stability and security — Putin

MOSCOW, September 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Abkhazian counterpart Raul Khadzhimba on Independence Day of South Caucasian Republic of Abkhazia, expressing confidence in building up mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of its citizens in order to step up regional stability and security, the Kremlin press service said.

“The Russian president noted that this holiday embodies valor, sustaining power and heroism of the Abkhazian people who protected their right for a free and peaceful life in consistent struggle,” the Kremlin press service said.

“Putin valued highly the positive development of Russian-Abkhazian relations based on many-century traditions of friendship, mutual help and good neighborly relations and said with confidence about expanding the whole scope of mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation for the interests of Russian and Abkhazian citizens in the future in order to bolster regional stability and security,” the Kremlin noted.
