KARA SEA, September 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Rosneft Company has opened a light-oil deposit in the Kara Sea, where the resources exceed 100 million tonnes, ITAR-TASS correspondent reported on Saturday from the West Alpha platform, from where drilling at the most northern Arctic well continues.
The company has finished successfully vertical drilling of the Universitetskaya-1 well (2,113 metres deep) in the Kara Sea and found there light oil, which quality may be compared with Siberian Light oil.
The new oil field in the Kara Sea is called Pobeda (Victory).
