Russia remains reliable energy supplier — German Energy Agency CEO

We have been maintaining relations in the energy sector with Russia for more than 40 years, German Energy Agency CEO Stephan Kohler says

BERLIN, September 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has been and remains a reliable supplier of energy resources irrespective of the political situation, chief executive of the German Energy Agency Stephan Kohler told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

“We’ve been maintaining relations (in the energy sector) with Russia for more than 40 years. Taking into account this experience, we can draw a conclusion that Russia is a reliable gas supplier,” Kohler said.

In light of the Ukrainian conflict, he said, in the past the West and Moscow had gone through difficult political and geopolitical times, for example the Cold War period and the collapse of the Soviet Union.

“However, under these circumstances, the supplier was committed to the contractual obligations. I have no reasons for doubting that Moscow will remain a reliable exporter (of energy resources) in the future,” Kohler said.
