BRUSSELS, September 15. /ITAR-TASS/. The volume of Russian gas supplies to the European Union was stable this weekend, a spokesperson for EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger said Monday.

“The level of gas flow from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine to the EU remained stable over the weekend," Marlene Holzner told journalists in Brussels.

The spokesperson said after several days of unbalanced gas volume, normal gas flows have resumed, adding that currently the gas flow remains uninterrupted.

She said last weekend reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary were carried out in a normal regime.

Ukraine has been receiving reverse gas supplies from Slovakia since the beginning of September. These reverse gas supplies were earlier provided by Poland and Hungary.

Kiev is currently not receiving Russian gas over an unsettled dispute over gas prices.

Ukraine's energy giant Naftogaz stopped paying for the consumed Russian gas since March 25. As of August 1, the overall debt of Naftogaz to Gazprom for supplied gas totaled about $5.296 billion.
