MOSCOW, July 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian energy giant Gazprom has resumed gas supplies to Turkey through Blue Stream gas pipeline on Friday after annual planned preventive and repairing operations, the Russian gas monopoly stated.

Gas delivery was resumed at 09:00 Moscow time (06:00 UTC) on Friday a day ahead of the deadline. All planned works are fully done. Gas supplies are made as scheduled.

For the period of maintenance gas supplies were secured thanks to higher gas amounts along alternative gas delivery routes and use of gas from Turkish underground gas storages.

Blue Stream maritime gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey was suspended for planned technical maintenance on July 1 until the end of this week.

Blue Stream gas pipeline stretching at 1,213 kilometers and with an annual throughput capacity of 16 billion cubic meters of gas was commissioned in December 2002 for direct gas supplies to Turkish consumers along the Black Sea bottom.

Turkey is the second largest Russian gas importing country after Germany. In 2013, 26.61 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to Turkey on two routes, particularly by land and Blue Stream.
