This year heads of 12 federal agencies and over 30 Russian regions, representatives of state corporations such as Rostec, Rusal, United Aircraft Building Corporation (UAC) and Inter RAO arrived in Harbin to take part in Russia-China Expo. About 200 companies took part in the exhibition.
The expo is an upgrade from the Harbin Trade Fair, which has been held annually from 1990. Russia and China need a bigger platform to deepen economic and trade cooperation. In 2013 the fair was attended by about 300,000 specialists from 75 world countries. About 1,900 foreign and Chinese enterprises took part in it.
Russia and China signed documents at the amount of $8.69 billion. In October 2013 it was decided to rename the Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair into Russia-China Expo.
The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Heilongjiang Province government were organisers of the exhibition.
