KHABAROVSK, June 27./ITAR-TASS/. Drilling on the Black Sea shelf will be commenced in the first quarter of 2015, President of Rosneft, a Russian oil major, Igor Sechin said on Friday.

According to earlier reports, Rosneft and ExxonMobil in 2011 reached an agreement on joint development of hydrocarbon fields in the Russian sector of the Black Sea shelf. The primary project involves the exploration and development of the Tuapse Trough area, located in the Russian Black Sea shelf, in the Krasnodar Territory. The agreement suggests creation of a joint operating company that will conduct the work on exploration and production at the Tuapse Trough. The deep water area is 11.200 square kilometers.
