MOSCOW, June 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft has established a company to ensure the security of oil and oil product traffic, the company said in a statement Friday.
The affiliate will have 13 regional branches, the company said.
On Tuesday, a Ukrainian section of Russia’s Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline exploded, and the local police said that the blast was caused by a bomb. It was later revelaed that the blast occurred due to the depressurization of gas in the pipe which is in emergency condition. The gas flow was directed to a parallel pipeline.
After that, Ukraine promised to tighten the security of its gas pipelines to prevent possible attacks.
