MOSCOW, June 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Gazprom and PetroVietnam Oil Company are discussing joint operation of Vietnam’s only refinery Zung Kuat, the Russian gas giant said in a statement late Tuesday following a meeting between Deputy CEO Vitaly Markelov and PetroVietnam CEO Do Van Hau.
“An increase of the refinery’s capacity and efficiency will provide a significant impetus for the development of Vietnam’s refining industry and help Gazprom access one of the fastest growing oil products markets,” the company said.
Markelov and Do Van Hau also discussed the development of Vietnam’s shelf fields, possible supplies of Russian liquefied natural gas to the country and the development of Gazpromviet, a joint venture between Gazprom and PetroVietnam in Russia.
