ASTANA, May 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Creation of the Eurasian Economic Union will serve as a basis for future political, military and humanitarian unity of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana on Thursday.
On May 29, Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, Vladimir Putin, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko, signed a treaty to create the Eurasian Economic Union.
The treaty will come into effect on January 1, 2015.
