KIEV, May 28. /ITAR-TASS/. The gas transit through Ukraine fell 4.3% on the year to 5.8 million cubic meters in April and fell 6.8% to 24.4 million cubic meters in January-April, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of the country said in a statement on Wednesday.
Gas transit to Western Europe amounted to 5.6 billion cubic meters in April and 23.3 billion cubic meters in January-April, the ministry said.
The country’s gas consumption fell 18.8% to 3 billion cubic meters in April and decreased 12.8% to 21.3 billion cubic meters in January-April.
Ukraine produced 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas in April, a 1.3% increase, and 6.5 billion cubic meters in January-April, a 1.9% increase.
Oil transit through the country grew 1.2% to 5 million tons in January-April.
