Chairman: all disagreements over draft Eurasian Economic Union Treaty settled

The document could be submitted for signing on May 29

MINSK, April 29, 22:42 /ITAR-TASS/. All major differences concerning the draft Eurasian Economic Union Treaty have been stteled, chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Khristenko said on Tuesday after a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of state.

“All basic disagreements over the draft treaty have been settled,” he said. “We still have some outstanding bilateral questions to be further discussed.” He said that all the details of the treaty would be finalized very soon “so that the document could be submitted for signing at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Council in Astana on May 29.

A draft agreement on Armenia’s joining the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space will be ready by June 1, 2014, Khristenko said.

“It was decided to prepare a draft agreement on Armenia’s joining the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space to be considered at a meeting of the Supreme Council,” he said. “The deadline was set by June 1, 2014.
