Agrarians' congress, organized by United Russia party opens in Volgograd

VOLGOGRAD, April 04,  /ITAR-TASS/. The problems, connected with the upholding of the interests of the agrarians will be discussed at the congress of deputies from rural setttlements. The two-day congres opens here on Friday on the initiative of the United Russia party (URP).

The URP press service reported that the congress would assemble over 1,900 reprtsentatives of the agrarian sector, among them memberd of legislative assemblies, the heads and depuyies of rural settlements and agricultural producers.

On the first day of the forum, those present at six platforms will discuss the problems of the countryside and ways to resolve them. "We shall discuss matters relating to education, healh care, employment and social relations in the countryside. Another several panel discussions will be devoted to agricultural production," Sergei Neverov, Secretary of the URP General Council, said.

The heads of ministries and agencies will take part in the discussions. Neverov pointed out that participation had been confirmed by Dmitry Livanov, RF Minister of Education, Nikolai Fyodorov, Minister of Agriculture, Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health, and MaximTopilin, Minister of Labour and Social Protection.

An enlarged joint session of the URP Supreme and General Concils will be held on April 5. A URP source told Itar-Tass that the session would be attended by URP Chairman Dmitry Medvedev.
