MOSCOW, February 05, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s consumer inflation rate picked up the pace of 0.1 percent in the period from January 28 through February 3, 2014, the Russian State Statistics Service says in its regular report, adding that the indicator has gone up by 0.1 percent since the beginning of February and grown by 0.7 percent since the beginning of the year.
Over the same period of the preceding year, consumer prices gained 0.1 percent on February 1-3, as well as had grown by 1.1 percent since January 1, 2013. In February 2013, the country’s inflation was estimated at 0.6 percent.
Herewith, a daily average growth of consumer prices gained 0.024 percent in February, comparing 0.019 percent in January 2014, which means that the inflation rate can pick up 0.67 percent upon results of the current month, if the dynamics remain unchanged.
On January 28 - February 3, the biggest growth of prices was registered for vodka (1.1 percent), the statistics said, adding that prices for frozen fish, milk, cottage cheese, butter and cheese edged up by 0.3-0.4 percent.
Simultaneously, average prices of eggs continued decreasing and dropped by 2.7 percent over the week. In addition, the prices of beef, pork, poultry, sunflower oil and buckwheat slid down by 0.1-0.2 percent.
In the period under review, prices of fruit and vegetables increased by 1.3 percent on average across the country, while the prices of cabbages went up by 4.2 percent and the prices of carrots, potatoes, and onions grew by 2.3-3.5 percent.
In the designated period, the Russian State Statistics Service registered 0.1-percent growth in the petrol prices and 0.2-percent increase in the average prices of diesel fuel.
