MOSCOW, February 4. /ITAR-TASS/. Microsoft founder Bill Gates has resigned as Chairman of the Board. He will stay in the company as a technology advisor. John Thompson will become Microsoft’s new Chairman.

Satya Nadella is appointed as the company’s CEO. He will also join the Board of Directors, says the official statement from Microsoft. Nadella, who has been working in the company since 1992, supervised the development of cloud and corporate program products and held the position of Executive Vice-President. “During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella,” said Gates.
