Nearly 5 bln rbls to be spent by 2018 to finalize Superjet-100

MOSCOW, January 18 (Itar-Tass) - An extra 4.7 billion roubles ($156 mln) will be spent on research and development to finalize the Sukhoi Superjet-100 airliner in 2014-2018, as follows from a draft of the upgraded state program for the development of the aircraft industry for 2013-2025.

Last year’s spending for this purpose totalled 2.1 billion roubles. Future spending by year will look as follows - 1.25 billion roubles in 2014, 1 billion roubles in 2015, 1.8 billion roubles in 2016 and 0.4 billion roubles in 2017 and 2018 each.

The SSJ-100 is a new generation medium-haul plane designed by the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (an affiliate of the United Aircraft-Building Corporation). At the end of 2013 the manufacturer had 179 SSJ-100s in its order books. The first and largest operator of this plane is Russia’s airlines Aeroflot.
