MOSCOW, January 15, 2:15 /ITAR-TASS/. Sergei Kiriyenko, General Director of the Rosatom State Corporation, travels to Amman, the capital of Joirdan, on Wednesday for a working trip, Sergei Novikov, head of the State Corporation's department for communications, told Itar-Tass.
Novikov said the Rosatom chief would be received by Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein. Kiriyenko also plans to meet wtih the country's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and hold talks with Khaled Toukan, Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commisssion (JAEC).
In 2013, JAEC summed up the results of an international tender for building the country's first nuclear power station (NPS). A win was awarded to the Rosatom's bid. In the final of the tender's procedure, Russia's State Corporation competed against an NPS project of the Franco-Japanese consortium Areva-Mitsubishi.
