Naftogaz, Gazprom decide gas price for 2014

In January-March 2014, Ukraine side will pay $268.5 for one thousand cubic meters of Russian gas

KIEV, January 9. /ITAR-TASS/. Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Russian gas giant Gazprom have signed an additional agreement to the 2009 deal, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Eduard Stavitsky told journalists Thursday.

According to the agreement, in January-March 2014 the Ukrainian side will pay $268.5 for one thousand cubic meters of Russian gas.

The discount deal was clinched at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Moscow December 17, 2013. The sides are now to sign additional agreements quarterly, before the 10th day of the quarter’s first month.

According to Stavitsky’s earlier statement, the gas price will be based on international oil prices.
