Russia satisfied with trade, economic relations with Japan - Lavrov

“The session of the bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held in the second half of next year,” the Russian minister said

TOKYO, November 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is satisfied with the development of trade and economic relations with Japan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Lavrov said, “We’re satisfied with the development of the dialogue in this sphere.”

“The session of the bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held in the second half of next year,” the Russian minister said.

“As for the oil and gas sector, Russian companies such as Rosneft, Gazprom and NOVATEK are holding concrete talks with Japanese partners. Concrete projects are being implemented, primarily in Siberia,” he said.

“Progress has been achieved in such areas as transport, machine-building, agriculture and medicine. The companies of both countries continue to intensify cooperation in these fields,” Lavrov said.
