VERONA, Italy, October 17 (Itar-Tass) - The Verona Forum is important as it helps Europe get rid of phobias regarding the Customs Union in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksey Meshkov told ltar-Tass in connection with the Eurasian Forum under way now.
“The forum is necessary, as it enables our colleagues in Europe better to grasp the questions of our integration within the Customs Union and get rid of all sorts of phobias and suspicions,” the diplomat said. “This is the forum’s important educational function. It also has a practical function. It brings together business people, representatives of Russian and Italian regions who draw up specific joint projects,” Meshkov said. “We know that the forum launches interesting joint undertakings,” he went on. “I believe the forum is important and useful to us and to our Italian partners. I am sure our colleagues in the CIS countries also show much interest in the forum,” Meshkov said.
