MOSCOW, October 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution determining main parameters and mechanisms for the project to reconstruct and modernize the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian main lines, the government website said.
The document is prepared by the Transport Ministry following the president's instructions.
The project must specify freight traffic indices, a mechanism to form tariffs, a scheme to develop the railroads and the infrastructure, volumes and sources of financing, a business plan and a financial model for reconstruction, modernization and further use.
The resolution approves a work schedule setting deadlines and indicates those who will oversee the implementation.
