Industrial and economic forum opens in Nizhny Novgorod Tuesday

The forum will focus on the scientific and industrial potential of Russia and the development of innovative territorial clusters and technological platform

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 10 (Itar-Tass) - The 18th International industrial and economic forum "The Future of Russia" opens here on Tuesday to focus on the scientific and industrial potential of Russia and the development of innovative territorial clusters and technological platforms.

A visiting session of the Federal Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) will be the key event of the forum which is to be attended by RUIE President Alexander Shokhin, Russia’s Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, the leading officials of Russia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, representatives of the Russian Union of Rectors, the leaders of the regional branches of RUIE, and executives of leading Russian and foreign companies.

Yevgeny Lebedev, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region, told journalists that those present at the Council session would discuss interaction between authorities, the system of education, science and business to provide industrial enterprises with professional personnel.

A roundtable meeting on the topic of "Investment-Related Legislation of the Regions as Instrument for attracting capital" is to be held within the framework of the forum. Entrepreneurs and members of regional business community are to discuss prospects for the development of regional small and medium-sized businesses up to the level of global companies, and familiarize themselves with the experience gained by the most successful Nizhny Novgorod-based small and medium companies operating on international markets.

The topic of innovative education, to which specialists refer as "locomotive of technological breakthrough of Russia" will hold a special place at the forum. A "Russian Capital for Russian Innovations" exhibition is to open within the scope of the forum. On view will be topical sections dedicated to medicine of the future, aviation technologies, the application of innovative technologies in water transport, construction and operation of railways and motor roads and systems, as well as nuclear power engineering and ecological development technologies. There are sites assigned for projects in the sphere of agro-biotechnology and social innovations.

The forum is held under the auspices of the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament and the Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development within the framework of an International business summit opening on September 11.
