Russia’s consumer prices remain unchanged third week in row, inflation gains 4 percent

MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s consumer prices remain unchanged for the third week in a row, the Russian State Statistics Service said in a report, made public on Wednesday, August 28.

According to the document, Russia’s inflation amounted to zero percent on the week from August 20 to August 26. The indicator has gained 0.1 percent since the beginning of August, and has increased by 4.5 percent since the beginning of the year, the statistics said.

For the first time, the Russian Statistics Service registered the zero consumer inflation rate upon the results of the week from August 6 through August 12, 2013. The zero inflation was also on the week from August 13 to August 19.

Proceeding from the report, the inflation rate amounted to 0.1 percent in August 2012. The inflation totaled to 0.2 percent on August 1-26, as well as the indicator had gained 4.7 percent since the beginning of the preceding year.
