Gazprom boosts natural gas exports to Italy to 13 bcm in H1 2013

Germany remains Europe's largest importer of natural gas

MOSCOW, August 14 (Itar-Tass) - Gazprom boosted natural gas supply to Italy to 13.1 billion cubic meters in the first half of 2013 against 6.62 billion cubic meters year-on-year, the gas holding said in a report.

Last year, Gazprom supplied to Italy 15.1 billion cubic meters of gas, and in 2011, it supplied 17 billion cubic meters.

The Russian gas giant's supplies to Western Europe increased to 62.06 billion cubic meters in the first half from 54.87 billion cubic meters a year ago. Germany remains Europe's largest importer of natural gas. Gazprom's supplies to Germany increased to 18.49 billion cubic meters over the designated period from 17.13 billion cubic meters a year ago.
