Aeroflot among top five European airlines by revenue

Aeroflot left behind such major players as Ryanair, SAS Group, EasyJet and Alitalia

MOSCOW, August 6 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Aeroflot flagship carrier has for the first time in the history of Russian aviation made it into the top five airline holdings in Europe and the top 25 in the world by the amount of revenue, according to the Airline Business magazine, sources from the Aeroflot’s public relations department told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

In its annual analytical survey World Airline Rankings, published in the August edition, the biggest Russian holding is placed fifth in the rating of leading European carriers, leaving behind such major players as Ryanair, SAS Group, EasyJet and Alitalia.
