International industrial exhibition Innoprom-2013 opens in Yekaterinburg

The conference “Global Cooperation - the Basis for Introducing High Technologies in Industry” will be the main event of the expo

YEKATERINBURG, July 11 (Itar-Tass) - Experts from more than 70 countries are expected to visit the international industrial exhibition Innoprom-2013 that opens here on Thursday.

According to the organizational committee, the countries will be represented both by participant companies and by delegations of guests.

A big delegation will represent China. The Chinese delegation will include leading experts in business and international relations. It will be led by the rector of China’s biggest business school, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Xiang Bing.

According to governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuivashev, more than 50,000 participants and guests are expected to attend the exhibition. “Taking part will be delegates from member countries of the Bureau of International Expositions, who have arrive in Yekaterinburg to attend the Global Mind symposium, as well as delegates from 40 African countries who are taking part in the economic forum Urals-Africa,” he said. According to the region’s governor, the event will contribute to Russia’s chances to win the bid for hosting the international universal exposition EXPO-2020. The subject of the EXPO-2020 will be raised at the Innoprom events. “It will be a cross-cutting theme during the entire exhibition,” he noted.

A central event of the Innoprom exhibition will be the conference “Global Cooperation - the Basis for Introducing High Technologies in Industry” on July 12. The conference will bring together top managers from the biggest international corporations and authoritative experts in industrial development.

The exhibition’s program also includes an event of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which unites more than 15 Asian countries.
