Putin suggests direct ties between European Commission and Eurasian Economic Commission

Putin is of the opinion that cooperation between the commissions is particularly important

YEKATERINBURG, June 4 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin believes “it would be useful for the leadership of the European Commission to establish direct ties with the interstate structure of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space - with the Eurasian Economic Commission,” the Russian leader told the press conference after the Russia-EU Summit.

Putin is of the opinion that cooperation between the commissions is particularly important in light of the decisions on further development of integration adopted at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana.

The head of the Russian state also noted that at the past summit the sides discussed mutual trade claims, connected, specifically, with utilization charges, antidumping measures of the EU and sanitary and phito-sanitary standards. “We have agreed to work jointly and constructively to achieve compromise solutions. “I am sure this is possible,” Putin said.
