GORKI, March 29 (Itar-Tass) – Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Russia guarantees that everything will be done at the high level if Yekaterinburg is chosen to host the EXPO-2020.
“On behalf the government I’d like to assure you we’ll do our best to organise all events of the EXPO-2020 at the high level in compliance with the existing requirements,” Medvedev said at the meeting with the leadership on the International Exhibitions Bureau on Friday.
“We seek to prove that Yekaterinburg is a very good candidature for this event in 2020. I hope that during the stay in our country you’ll be able to make sure in it,” the prime minister added.
Chairperson of the IEB Executive Expert Committee Stan Christensen praised Russia’s application. “Your committee is prepared well. We received answers to all questions,” he said.
Christensen stressed that political support from the country’s leadership is one of the necessary conditions for holding the EXPO-2020. “We consider our meeting one more proof of political support for the EXPO-2020,” he stressed.
