MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) – Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov held a meeting with Cypriot Finance Minister Michael Sarris here on Wednesday. An official from the secretariat of the Russian first deputy prime minister confirmed the fact of the meeting to Itar-Tass.

In his words, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov also attended the meeting. The official of the secretariat refrained from further comments.

“The negotiations will continue tomorrow,” a reliable source acquainted with the current situation said

Sarris, who had negotiations with Siluanov earlier on Wednesday, named them as very good, very constructive and very honest. Cyprus understands how serious the current situation in the country is, Sarris said. Cyprus will continue the negotiations to find a solution that will permit us to receive the support from Russia, the minister said.

The Cypriot minister refused from further communication with the press, explaining that the delegation is expected at another place to continue the negotiations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not receive the Cypriot finance minister, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Itar-Tass. “This meeting is not planned in the working schedule of the Russian president,” Peskov said.
