TBILISI, March 13 (Itar-Tass) – Moscow will host a Russian-Georgian economic forum on April 8, the first such event since 2006, head of the Center for Georgian-Russian Economic Cooperation /TsGRES/ Georgy Seturidze told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
"The forum will be held at the initiative of Russian partners, to be represented by public and private bodies," a TsGRES official said. The Georgian organization is a forum co-organizer.
According to the TsGRES, Georgia will be represented by the association of Georgian banks, the Airzena airline, members of the association of Georgian wine exporters, travel agencies and independent experts.
At the forum, the parties plan to discuss Georgia’s opportunities as a key transport hub in the region and prospects for joint investment projects in power generation, chemical industry, and banking.
Also, Russia and Georgia will consider the opportunities of the two countries in tourism and exports of Georgian agricultural products to Russia.
The forum results are expected to make groundwork for a visit to Tbilisi by a larger delegation of Russian business persons in late May.
The TsGRES was set up in Tbilisi in 2012 as a non-government private organization with the objective to contribute to the restoration and development of trade and economic cooperation with Russia.
