NOVO-OGARYOVO, March 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that he intended to propose presidential aide Elvira Nabiullina, Russia’s former minister of economic development, as candidate to the post of Central Bank chief.
“I am planning to propose the candidacy of Elvira Nabiullina to the post of Central Bank chief,” Putin said at a meeting with Sergei Ignatyev, the incumbent Central Bank chairman, on Tuesday. His terms of office expire on June 24.
Putin said that Nabiullina had all the necessary knowledge and experience required for the post.
