10 bln rouble violations exposed at Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service

After the audit, as many as 130 people were brought to pecuniary liability, and 930 people – to disciplinary liability

MOSCOW, February 28 (Itar-Tass) - Financial violations to a sum of more than ten billion roubles have been revealed in the audit of Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service, director of the service, Gennady Korniyenko, said on Thursday.

According to Korniyenko, about 500 million roubles of that sum are subject to restitution. He also noted that the number of financial violations has almost doubled as compared with 2011.

Such violations include “accounting offence, violations of the procedure of the formation, placement and execution of orders for the purchase and supply of goods and services, violations in the area of payment for labor, and others,” he said.

Materials on 13 audit inspections and 17 exposed violations have been referred to investigation agencies.
